Model Remodel, a Seattle-based general contractor specializing in remodeling, is seeking an experienced Designer to join our team. We're looking for a motivated, honest, and reliable individual who will brings professionalism and a passion for remodeling design to our company.

We are seeking a Designer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in residential and remodeling design, coupled with a degree in Design or Architecture or equivalent experience.

 

Job Description:

As a Designer at Model Remodel, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding our clients through the exciting journey of remodeling projects. From initial concept to final execution, you'll be instrumental in translating visions into reality. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, creating comprehensive 2-D and 3-D drawings to visualize design concepts, providing expert guidance on material selections within budget constraints, assisting with permit acquisition and ensuring compliance with local regulations. You will coordinate with our Client Services team, Estimators, Project Managers, and Supervisors to ensure a smooth transition from design to construction.

Job Requirements:

  • Must always exhibit professional conduct and mutual respect to all people.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to establish good working relationships with team members and clients.
  • Utilize design software to produce design documents and renderings to meet client needs.
  • Proficiency in Chief Architect, CAD, and Microsoft Applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of residential construction process and municipal building standards and policies, and current City & State Building Codes.
  • Work closely with Sales and clients to design within a clients’ budget and assist with material and fixture choices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Frequent standing and sitting.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer and see color.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within King County.
